Building Muscle for Women without Looking “Manly”
Gain muscle and tone up without bulking. Click here to find out how!
Let’s be honest, women typically prefer the toned and sexy feminine look over the overly muscular physique. This is why it is very rare to see women lifting weights at the gym. You see, building muscle for women without looking “manly” is only really an issue because most are misinformed. Most women believe that if they lift like a man, they will look like a man. This couldn’t be more inaccurate, simply because the hormones men produce are much different than the ones produced by women.
Stop Using Light Weights!
A lot of the time women are interested in toning and proceed to lift very little weight to avoid bulking.
This is another huge misconception/mistake.
When toning your body to become “tighter”, you must build muscle. However, most women are afraid to lift heavier because they are afraid to get big and bulky. As I mentioned before, because of the difference in hormone production between man and women, building bulky muscles from lifting heavier will NOT be an issue. Women will normally not build more muscle than they are looking to regardless of how much stronger they become. Building muscle for women is much more difficult than it is for men, and even men have a difficult time building muscle mass.
If you are looking to tone up and become more firm, I recommend a solid weight lifting routine. It is ok to start off with light weight but it is crucial that you increase the volume of your workout regularly in order to continue to get results. Unless you are putting added strain on your muscles, they will find no reason to grow or become denser. Make sure you are either using heavier weight, performing more reps, more sets, or less rest time in between exercises to ensure you are outperforming your last session.
Building Muscle for Women – The Importance of Low Body Fat
Although women can tone their bodies without looking bulky, unless your body fat is low, you will not feel or look toned. For example, you could be working your abs a few days a week and be getting incredible results, but until you burn the fat covering up your midsection, your six pack will not be visible. If you are interested in building some muscle but your body fat is not quite as low as you would like, check out these toning workouts for women.
Building Muscle for Women without Bulking
There you have it, a very simple and straight to the point explanation as to why you shouldn’t be afraid of the weights in the gym. Find yourself a solid weight lifting routine and continue to progressively overload your muscles. Make sure you are also focusing on keeping that body fat low for optimum results and a great sexy and feminine physique.
